Catching up ( I'm always falling behind)

Ok, so I finally decided that I need need to keep up with my blog like a person should. I promise from this point forward I am going to make every effort in this world to blog atleast once or twice a week. My weeks are very busy.....Soccer coach, Soccer mom, University full time employee, University full time student, friend, foe. Whatever, I just know that I am so busy that I need to prioritize my priorities. I figured it out that I have scatter brains. I somehow managed to finally figure it out! Anyways, the boys are all doing fine. Gavin made A-B Honor Roll so I was very proud of him. 2nd grade is a bit more demanding so I praise him as much as I can. I have my first parent-teacher conference with Tristin's teacher on thursday. I am excited. He really likes her so maybe it will be a good thing! John Wesley and I are still going strong. We've managed to not run each other off just yet! He is so humble it is amazing! He truly is a great man. Anyways, I am still in the market for a new camera again. This time I am looking at a Canon Rebel XTI. They sell bundle deals at Sam's Club so I am saving my allowance. I already hear Christmas Songs, hint, hint! Anyways, just wanted to say hi and I do hope everyone is doing good! God Bless you. Enjoy!

It's been a while

Finally, I have a moment to sit and post a blog. I read everyone else's blogs but never find the time to write my own. It's Friday and we only work a few hours so I thought I would close up the morning by writing a blog. Not much has happened since my last blog. We went to my cousins' wedding and had a great time. Gavin and Tristin ran around the dance floor all night and hit the sack when we walked through the door. They had a great time. John and I enjoyed ourselves as we had our first dance. One thing I am not going to forget because he asked like a true gentleman. Too bad that are not many men left like John. But to those who have one - remind him that he is special and you are lucky to have someone like him. I leave you with some fun photos of that night! Enjoy!

Birthdays (we always need another one)

Since my return from Las Vegas I was being somewhat of a pain in the neck to John. I was being annoying and was letting him know the simplest of things were bothering me. I was picking fights on purpose. But there was a method to my madness. You see John's birthday was coming up. I was having a surprise birthday party for him and I didn't want him to have the slightest idea. I was afraid I would let it slip so I planned it on short notice for everyone. We rushed around all morning in Kingsville and Premont getting everything together and my dad came home on his lunch break to start cooking the main course, the brisket. My mom, aunt, and I cooked all the side items and then Nneka and I rushed around town picking up last minute things. Everything was running smoothly. Then, I forgot. How was I supposed to get John to stay in Premont at least until seven. Remember, John is still annoyed with me since I was causing all these petty fights. I called my cousin Mark who works with John and asked him to figure out a way to get John to the church at 7. He came up with the idea that anyone who was sponsoring a youth for church camp needed to be at the church at 7. Great! John is sponsoring a youth! At about 6:55pm John shows up and looks so calm. I kinda got nervous because he looked like nothing was wrong or was bothering him. We sat on the bench and just talked. I apologized for my crappy behavior and he apologized as well. He had no reason to say he was sorry because I was the one causing all the fights. What a gentlemen! Only genuine people can say sorry for another persons actions. Ok, enough of the sweet talk. I told John maybe we should go inside because they were probably already going to start the meeting. As we walked to the church, John naturally allowed me to go first. I keep trying to slow down and let him in front, and he naturally kept wanting me to go first. I finally just said, "John- you first!" Well, he walks in and everyone yells SURPRISE!!!! Yes, it worked. John got a surprise birthday party and I got a sense of accomplishment with the help of several people. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special for John!!! ~Jess

Starting Over (like we all should...)

It's 10:00pm. A first for us that it is not anything past midnight! I tried to post a blog, but apparently I do not remember the email associated with the blog, so I had to copy and paste our old blogs from the website. We initially started this blog on May 8, but the posts are dated for today. Sorry for the confusion, but I finally got it right. Please save http://www.mixedchilipeppersarehot.blogspot.com/ as the correct address.

To get up to speed with everything, we have been staying at local hotels so we can blog about them.

Our first stay was at the Embassy Suites in Corpus Christi.
I have to say that it was not all that for the money, but it was accommodating.
There was a beautiful fountain in the middle of the hotel atrium. All the rooms were a two room suite so it made up for the small bathroom.

Our next visit was at the Hampton Inn located in Kingsville, Texas. The bed was covered in a down comforter and had 6 pillows. Even though only 2 or 3 were used it made the king size bed appear even larger. They even had a lapboard for your laptop! Definitely a positive for us. They had up-to-date movies you could order as well. Nothing comes free at the life of luxury.

I was mostly impressed at the size of the restroom. On the contrary I wished they had a bathtub as opposed to a walk-in shower, but the sink and mirror made up for it. The counter top was very spacious that it appeared extravagant. There were plenty of towels and your forgetfuls on the counter top.

Our last stay was over Memorial Day Weekend. This was the best weekend we have had in a long time. We drove up to Blanco, which is about 40 minutes North of the San Antonio hill country. It was just gorgeous. We visited with my cousins in Blanco and in Dripping Springs. We got a few shots of the place on the way there and back.

John saved us by making us stay in an inn vice sleeping on the floor. What a great guy!!! We stayed at the Blanco County Inn. It was a evening to remember. We had two beds and somehow 4 people ended in one. Don't get me wrong, it was full in all, but the bed was only made for 2. It was quite spacious besides the bathroom, but it at least it had a tub. I am a sucker for bathtubs. The inn was quite homey, as it had walk way rugs on the floor to add to the hill country feeling. It did have it's charms.

To end this wonderful plight here are a few shots of us on the way home from our road trip. Enjoy!

A Better View

Once again here you find us 15 past midnight trying to write a blog. Time is of the essence and we never seem to be in sync with it! These pictures were taken while cruising back to town while returning from a mini vacation. And just like any vacation we hit a speed bump, but a few turns later we arrived in one piece. We'll leave you with a special memory we want to share. Enjoy!

The Initial Entry

At midnight I decide to start this official blog. Timing has never been my friend. I make John stay awake so we can do this together. (He has to leave in 4 hours) We will start to add photos as this beautiful and sometimes demanding life unfolds. We will try our hardest to write something and keep you informed. Until the next post......this is where we begin.
